Leading Health Care Analyst Sheryl R. Skolnick Joins Optum

BOSTON, Mass. (Jan. 9, 2018) – Optum, a health services leader, announced that leading health care analyst Sheryl R. Skolnick, Ph.D., will join the company as Executive Vice President, Strategic Relationships.
With nearly 30 years of experience in research and analysis encompassing all parts of the health care industry, and having served in leadership roles at major global investment banking firms, Skolnick brings significant knowledge and insight to Optum. As a member of the Office of the CEO, she will drive Optum’s thought leadership, extend and establish strategic relationships for the business, and focus on innovation and strategy for all markets the company serves.
Since 2015, Skolnick has served as Managing Director, Director of Research & Senior Health Care Analyst at Mizuho Securities USA LLC, the U.S. subsidiary of a major global investment banking and securities firm. Over the past three decades, she has intensively covered the growth of health care services, and has been at the forefront of recognizing key trends and expanding coverage of this fast-emerging sector. She is a five-time Wall Street Journal All-Star Analyst.

Prior to joining Mizuho, Skolnick served as co-head of research and head of research administration for CRT Capital Group LLC in Connecticut, as well as holding several senior level research and analyst roles at various leading investment banking firms. She also serves as adjunct professor at Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health.
